Steam Adds 11 New Games We Can’t Believe Are Completely Free

Your backlog is probably quaking, but is that about to stop me from highlighting 11 free-to-play titles that are worth your time?

Absolutely not.

Certainly, there are plenty of sloppy free games out there, but so too are there some absolute gems – and I’ve got 11 of them below that you can enjoy now on PC storefront Steam.

All of the above titles have secured ‘Positive’ or ‘Very Positive’ review ratings from players.

Let’s begin with Shards of the Banished from developer GreenBeamStudio.

This one’s a dark fantasy action RPG set within a cursed medieval world.

“A fallen king, a cursed queen, and a power-hungry usurper have plunged the land into ruin. As the exiled heir, you must rise, face powerful foes, and reclaim what is rightfully yours,” the synopsis claims.

The title is out in early access where you can enjoy its stamina-based melee combat system, skill tree, bonus-granting talismans, and linear world packed with terrifying enemies and bosses.

If you enjoy dungeon crawlers, Vancouver Film School brings us Incorporeal where you’ll play as a treasure hunter who can sever their soul from their body.

The gameplay for this one looks very smooth.

You’ll dash through traps, use your spectral form to strike down enemies, and protect your fragile physical body as you attempt to fight and puzzle solve in a bid to escape a series of catacombs with ancient relics in tow.

For the puzzle platforming fans, I’ll direct your attention towards Light of Coco.

This game comes from Amerosa Games and you’ll assume the role of feline star creature Coco who must use her meows to nurture the environment.

It’s a story of love, loneliness, hardship, and determination.

Coco’s meows will be able to activate totems, open doors, clear rubble and more, with several nasty enemies wanting to put a stop to Coco’s mission; sounds like a charming little game.

Consumption Line is a fun, short title from Rhombico Games that should take you no longer than 30 minutes to complete.

“A short, fully free, experimental indie game about the food industry, deceptive advertising and the downsides of modern life. A sarcastic 30‑minute experience designed to make you reflect, not grind,” it teases.

It looks brilliant and is one I’ll be giving a go.

Dillo’s Dilemma offers something rather unique too.

Developed by MoonSpice Games, this is a collectathon where you’ll play as Dillo who will roll around a series of locations, attempting to collect items as he does so.

It’s a bit of a platforming game then too, I suppose. It looks pretty fun.

If you’re a horror fan, then I’d urge you to check out Vigil.

This game is by Singularity Studios and it sees you take up residence at an underground facility where it’s your job to dispose of boxes.

However, there’s an unsettling automaton roaming the premises who seems to move every time you look away.

Creepy.

Nakuma is for those who adore classic RPGs of yesteryear.

This nostalgic pixel art action RPG comes from Vision Interactive, and centres around a pretty simple premise.

“Nakuma is a single-player RPG game with a focus on grinding for gear and experience points by defeating monsters on a variety of different maps,” it teases.

Players seem to be enjoying its gameplay loop.

Ravenous is yet another horror, this time coming from RAVENOUS TEAM.

You’ll play as Louis, a child trapped in a monster’s basement. I already feel unsettled.

You’ll need to be brave and explore the house you’re trapped within, solving puzzles in a bid to try and save your sister.

Needless to say, you’ll find some nasty things awaiting you. This one’s got particularly rave reviews.

On the lighter side of things, there’s Bouncemasters.

Developed by Playgendary and JoyBits, this game will see you launch a penguin “across the globe”.

You’ll need to whack, bounce, and soar as you avoid obstacles in this arcade game inspired by YetiSports.

I’ve yet to feed the strategy fans, so to you I offer LazerGrrl, a PvP strategy title that devs pitch as “Bomberman meets RTS”.

It comes from Sandwich Generation who say: “Find the right balance between building your own base and blasting your opponent’s.”

Finally, I’ll end by recommending Googunners! which comes from developer Tayden.

This one’s an RNG-based arcade turret defence game where you’ll shoot asteroids, bagging yourself some sweet upgrades in the process.

Your goal? To beat the available high score.

These are just some of the gems that call Steam home, so I really would have a good browse of the storefront’s free-to-play section if you’re ever short of something to enjoy.
