Bloodborne: Magnum Opus Will Distract You From The Sequel That’s Never Coming

When it comes to perfection, FromSoftware’s Bloodborne is pretty much already there.

However, what would be better than Bloodborne?

Yes, a PC port or a sequel but what about more of the hit 2015 action RPG?

Well, that is now possible thanks to Abyss1ne on Nexus Mods who has created the Magnum Opus mod for Bloodborne.

First launched back in 2022 but still receiving updates to this day, Magnum Opus – Project Beast is “the culmination of datamined, cut content from the game.”

That is right. Abyss1ne has found a way to retrieve all of Bloodborne’s cut content and released it into one handy mod.

This means that players will be able to access “thousands of hours” worth of “reworked models, textures, and much more.”

“In these almost 10 years of Bloodborne we’ve been united playing this game and I hope this serves as a gift from a fan to the fans,” the creator shared.

“Magnum Opus is a mod which focuses on primarily changing the lighting of many levels in the game

along with their skyboxes. The mod also addresses problems related to assets that were never done properly by FromSoftware or the removal of unnecessary things left in the scenarios like the floating statues in Old Yharnam and other issues of the same nature.”

However, it is the mod’s update Project Beast that adds even more including the reintroduction of features and gameplay elements that were never released or scrapped entirely during development.

This includes enemies, items, weapons and even Chalice dungeons.

“The mod also focuses on a new take of the game using the prior knowledge and experience of the vanilla to enhance and surprise the player throughout their journey in Yharnam.”

Last but not least, Magnum Opus – Project Beast improves lighting and overall graphics for Bloodborne in an effort to introduce a “new take” to the hit FromSoftware title.

Since it was first uploaded to Nexus Mods, the Magnum Opus mod has gained over 16,000 downloads so it is safe to say that Bloodborne fans are eager for more of, what is often regarded, as the best souls game of all time.

The full change log for Magnum Opus can be found on the official Nexus Mods page so if you want to experience Bloodborne and see the masterpiece in full without any cuts, this is the perfect free download for you.

In the meantime, we continue to await the announcement of a Bloodborne PC port, remaster or sequel.

Any day now, right?
