Are you planning to search for all armor in Ghost of Yotei? These gear pieces offer unique effects and powerful boons, greatly improving your defensive capabilities in combat. Some even grant useful utility effects. We’ve got all the details you need in our guide, but be ready for some minor spoilers ahead.
Where to find all armor sets in Ghost of Yotei – Chest armor pieces guide
Before we list down the armor pieces in the game, we do need to mention a few caveats:
- Our guide only tackles chestpieces, as these provide stat boosts and perks/modifiers. Other equipment, such as helmets and masks, tend to be for cosmetic purposes only–i.e. they don’t offer any gameplay advantages.
- If you’re looking for headgear, you can obtain a few by completing Sumi-e Painting activities.
- We’ve organized our guide per region, which means we start things off with items that are found in Yotei Grasslands.
Onryo Armor
Location: Available by default. This is your first armor in Ghost of Yotei.
Snake Armor
Location: Available by default if you own the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. It’s the same attire worn by the Snake member of the Yotei Six.
Taro’s Armor
Location: This chestpiece comes from Taro, a vendor NPC who pops up in the wilderness in Yotei Grasslands. If you see him, help him out and chat with him. He’ll give you the Taro’s Armor for your assistance.
Note: Past that point, Taro will show up and sell various wares for the rest of the campaign. Simply open the Wolf Pack menu and press the button prompt to set up your camp. You can buy all sorts of materials and items, including charms/accessories.
Bounty Master armor
Location: You can get this Ghost of Yotei armor by eliminating Soma the Condemned. Here’s the gist:
- Complete all bounties at the Old Inn. The Bounty Broker, Kojiro, will then tell you about a cursed renegade named Soma.
- Track the quest and head to the marked location near Lake Jozan. You also unlock a special Shamisen Song at this stage.
- Defeat Soma in a duel to claim your prize.
Mercenary Attire
Location: Make your way to Ishigaki Plain and do the main quest in that region. Eventually, Atsu will dress up like a mercenary to enter a fortress. This is part of the Belly of the Beast main quest.
That does it for our guide on where to find all armor in Ghost of Yotei. We’re going to update this guide once we’ve acquired other armor pieces, so stay tuned. If you’re keen on obtaining other equipment, you can check our weapons guide and charms guide. Lastly, as mentioned earlier, you can get certain headgear and helmets by completing Sumi-e Paintings.
From lush and fertile valleys to fortresses guarded by dozens of samurai, you’ve got your work cut out for you as Atsu. Don’t fret, though, because we have a Ghost of Yotei guides hub to help you every step of the way.
