Steam users have some more freebies to add to their libraries, this time they’re not games though.
Steam can be a treasure trove of free content when it wants to be, emphases on when it wants to be.
It’s easy to be disappointed with the free games it offers as many are either half-baked demos of the real-deal and others are indie games that might not scratch your itch for a substantial playthrough of something.
For those looking for something a bit meatier I’d recommend checking out The Epic Games Store, as the free games offered there have a better chance of being AAA titles, or GOG, especially if you like a more retro vibe to your games.
This time around Steam isn’t offering games, it’s offering stickers to make your account look prettier, and these stickers will soon be a rare commodity.
Steam stickers don’t have much use nowadays. The real prize used to be the trading cards which could actually be used as credit towards certain Steam purchases, the stickers have been a poor replacement.
The stickers we’re highlighting today come from a limited-time event involving Your Discovery Queue. This is a part of Steam that basically compiles stats related to your Steam Store activity. It’ll tell you how many games you’ve wishlisted, what games you’ve been interested in and display them in the form of a carousel, based on release date, activities and so on.
It’s a bit hard to explain but that’s the gist of it, and while you probably won’t have checked it out much there’s now a good reason to do so.
By taking advantage of the Discovery Queue you’ll be able to add nine stickers to your collection. You’ll obtain three stickers every time you go through your queue, so you’ll need to use it a minimum of three times to get everything.
There are other rewards too but those are in the Steam Points Shop, which is pretty self-explanatory, you just need to go and redeem them basically.
Like I alluded to before these stickers won’t look like much but they’re worth grabbing if you’re a collector. Value is in the eye of the beholder after all.
These stickers will be here throughout Autumn, but once we move into Winter they’ll be gone, so act fast if you want them.
