CoD: Black Ops 7 Zombies Adds Zombie Bears, Bees, And A Pack-a-Punched Vehicle

CoD: Black Ops 7 Zombies Adds Zombie Bears, Bees, And A Pack-a-Punched Vehicle

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 arrives November 14, and Treyarch has released a blog post to reveal plenty of new details about the upcoming Ashes of the Damned Zombies map. This includes more story details, new information about the map’s Wonder Vehicle, a zombie bear enemy type, and more.

The full Zombies gameplay trailer is also available, which shows the upgraded Wonder Vehicle plowing through the undead. A few of the map locations can also be seen, and these include the Diner and Farm maps from Black Ops 2. At one point, a character hits a launch pad to eject themselves into the sky, and this scene shows off the massive map size for Ashes of the Damned.

Activision has also announced that Black Ops 7’s upcoming multiplayer beta will include Zombies. The beta will feature the Zombies Survival mode on the map Vandorn Farm.

New Black Ops 7 Zombies story details

Ashes of the Damned picks up right where Black Ops 6’s storyline ended with the Reckoning’s main Easter egg quest. Weaver and his crew are standing alongside Takeo, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Richtofen inside of Janus Towers. Treyarch has confirmed the original characters are new variants of the cast, and these characters are all pulled from different timelines.

Treyarch describes Ashes of the Damned as an off-world “Bermuda Triangle,” where various earthly and celestial locations were transported and dropped into this place. Janus Towers and all of the characters are now trapped inside this Dark Aether Bermuda Triangle.

The fog returns

Ashes of the Damned is inspired by Black Ops 2’s Tranzit map. This is Call of Duty’s largest Zombies map yet, with Ashes of the Damned being six map locations connected by dangerous stretches of road. Just like Tranzit, the roads contain a fog with dangerous creatures lurking within. Players can travel on foot, but it’s safer to use the map’s new Wonder Vehicle.

Ol’ Tessie the Wonder Vehicle

Ol’ Tessie is an armored truck that can be upgraded. Treyarch says the vehicle can become inoperable if too damaged, but teases players will need to figure out how to repair it. It starts out as a basic armored truck, but it can be upgraded with a turret and possibly other features. The new gameplay trailer also shows it can become a Pack-a-Punch machine.

Necrofluid Gauntlet Wonder Weapon

It wouldn’t be a proper Zombies map without a Wonder Weapon. In Ashes of the Damned, players can discover the Necrofluid Gauntlet. The Necrofluid Gauntlet is a black, skull-fanged glove that glows. It can be used as a ranged or melee weapon.

The classic Ray Gun and the Ray Gun Mark II Wonder Weapons are also available.

Zombie bear and bees

Zursa is a zombie bear elite enemy type. The undead bear can maul players with bites and claw strikes that not only deal heavy damage but also wound victims, leaving them vulnerable until they recover. The bear can also ram the Wonder Vehicle.

Additionally, Zursa is host to parasitic insects called Zombees that swarm from hive-like growths on its fur and skin. These clouds of Zombees can sting players and create further chaos.

New perk

Instead of drip-feeding perks with seasonal updates, Treyarch has confirmed the map has a total of 12 Perk-a-Colas. There are 11 returning perks and one new perk. Players can obtain as many perks as there are available in a map.

The new perk introduced for Black Ops 7 is Wisp Tea. This perk provides a protective ethereal creature that remains near the player, appearing only after the player inflicts a large amount of damage to the enemy. Use of field upgrades, equipment, and other high-damage items quickens the summoning of the wisp.

Plenty of returning features

Players can expect Black Ops 7 to include many features from Black Ops 6. This includes GobbleGums, the Rampage Inducer, augments, field upgrades, weapon Wall Buys, crafting tables, the Arsenal machine, and more. The iconic Mystery Box also returns.

Multiple Black Ops 7 Zombies modes confirmed

Standard: Play the new Round-Based Map Ashes of the Damned, continuing the fight against the undead within the Dark Aether, and searching for clues to the truth of what lies ahead. Recommended for experienced players, this will include access to main quest and side quest content and will be available at launch on November 14.

Directed: Returning from Black Ops 6 Zombies, Directed mode offers a streamlined path through a Zombies map, where clear objectives and guided progression will assist players with the main quest. Directed mode arrives later in a season, and while Treyarch didn’t provide a date, it’s usually with the midseason update.

Survival: Survival Maps are coming to Zombies for the first time since Black Ops 2, delivering a focused, unfiltered experience based on a small part of Ashes of the Damned at launch. There are no quests, other than surviving against the relentless undead for as long as possible.

Cursed: Take on a new experience featuring some legacy mechanics, with numerous side quests to unearth cursed relics. Players can activate these relics to face harder challenges in exchange for new levels of power, replayability, and rewards.
