Animula Nook has officially been unveiled, a new cosy life sim thatâs certain to appeal to Animal Crossing fans.
Developed by LilliLandia Games, an indie studio under Tencent Games, Animula Nook is an upcoming Lilliput fantasy life simulation game which essentially means itâll see you shrunken down in size.
âLilliputâ gets its name from an island nation that features in Jonathan Swiftâs Gulliverâs Travels.
Itâs with this in mind that you should expect everything within Animula Nook to feel larger than life.
âInspired by the charm of modern animated cartoons, Animula Nook transforms everyday objects into fantastical landscapes,â a press release reads.
âFrom towering coffee mugs to sprawling bookshelves, players become tiny explorers in a giantâs world. They can navigate and interact with oversized, real-world objects, build their own homestead, collect elements such as raindrops and wind to help with crafting, and grow crops in flowerpots.â
That sounds like my type of game.

The life sim or cosy genre has become rather crowded as of late, but Iâm totally sold on Animula Nookâs unique Lilliputian quirk.
Players will be able to forge friendships both with characters they encounter in the game as well as fellow players online as thereâs due to be support for online functionality.
To get an idea of what life is like as a teeny tiny individual, youâll have the chance to explore âhouseplant forestsâ whilst âmilk cartons become charming housesâ.
âTeacups turn into bustling cafĂ©s, and spice jars transform into tiny, glowing shops.â
Players will collect sunlight, raindrops, gentle breezes and even forgotten scents which can all be used in crafting, as can resources like coins and buttons.
Youâll then be able to build your new home using both what youâve crafted and found, first overhauling a plain olâ desk before then perhaps extending onto the nearby windowsill.
The further you venture out into the larger house you call home, the more treasures youâll find, although developers do warn of some perils too.

As for those characters youâll encounter, players can exchange gifts and create memories with various stories unfolding as you do so.
You can even convince characters to move in with you.
It goes without saying that thereâll be tons of customisation, both when it comes to your home and how your character looks, and plenty of handy tools have been created.
Youâll be able to sketch blueprints for builds, for example, or dismantle objects into modular components.
All in all, Animula Nook sounds like a charming little title and itâs available now to wishlist on Steam, Epic Games Store, and PlayStation.

It remains without a release date for now, and will eventually launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac in the future.
Weâll be keeping an eye on its progress.

Absolutely! The charm of Animula Nook seems to capture that same relaxing vibe that fans love. I’m particularly interested to see how the customization options compare to Animal Crossing; that could really enhance the gameplay experience!
