Pudgy Party Review

Pudgy Party Review

You know it’s time to try a game when so many people are talking about it. Pudgy Party Battle Royale, from the IP of Pudgy Penguins, has become popular lately, so I decided to give it a try and write my honest Pudgy Party Review. Throughout this review, I’ll detail my experiences and observations while playing the game, so stick around for my full Pudgy Party Review.

As an uncle of a kid who plays Roblox and other UGC games seven days a week, I have a strong foundation for what makes a game enjoyable or not. At least for the target group that Pudgy Penguins is aiming for.

I have spent over two decades playing MMORPG Games like Lineage and WoW, as well as UGC games such as Garry’s Mod. I’m about to discover what makes this game special.

At the moment of writing this Pudgy Party Review, Pudgy Party has over 100k Downloads on the Play Store App with 4.3 Stars out of 18 user reviews and 4.9 Stars on the iOS Store out of 747 user reviews. Seeing the iOS reviews outnumber those of Android users reminds me that every kid I see seems to own an iPhone.

Earlier this month, Pudgy Party crypto game hit 750k downloads and it’s a matter of time to reach one million.

Truth be told, I have respect for Mythical Games. I have been familiar with the company since its inception. Blankos World Party was one of the first high-quality games in the blockchain space. Later, with FIFA Rivals and NFT Rivals, they took a significant step up the ladder, creating games that appeal to the mainstream gaming market.

As a result, my expectations for Pudgy Party are high, even though the game is relatively new and it has plenty of room to grow.

Before you dive into my Pudgy Party Review, here are the specs of my device on which I’m playing the game.

Device: Google Pixel 8 Pro.

OS: Android 14

Processor: Tensor G3.

Ram: 12GB LDDDR5X RAM.

Screen: 6.7-inch LTPO OLED Display.

Connectivity: Stable 5G Connection.

The device has sufficient free space, and it’s not lagging, so I expect a smooth experience.

What is Pudgy Party?

Pudgy Party is a mobile party game developed by Pudgy Penguins in collaboration with Mythical Games. It was launched globally on August 29, 2025, for Android and iOS devices. The game features fast-paced mini-games, including races, obstacle courses, and survival matches, while incorporating web3 digital ownership elements. Players control adorable, customizable penguin characters and can unlock a variety of outfits, known as “skins,” emotes, and accessories. Some of these items can be traded as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The game is built on the Mythos Chain, which is based on Polkadot. This chain supports on-chain asset ownership, secure marketplace functionality, and a custodial wallet setup, allowing players to participate without any prior cryptocurrency experience.

There are two types of cosmetic items in the game:

NAT (Non-Tradable) Items: These are regular game skins that players can earn through gameplay, but they are not initially NFTs.

LE (Limited Edition / Tradable) Items: These special skins or assets can be minted into NFTs. Some NAT items can be converted to LE using in-game tools, such as Talismans.

Additionally, there is a native token called $PENGU. At launch, this token is not used for playing matches but is part of the broader Pudgy Penguins ecosystem. Future plans may involve integrating $PENGU (and possibly Mythical’s token) for in-game utility, rewards, cosmetics, or special content.

The Pudgy Party Review

First things first, Pudgy Party is free-to-play, which is a good sign. I am about to find out where and how the blockchain elements of crypto and NFT have evolved by playing the game. I have no clue about the integration at this point.

Upon installation, you are presented with a Consent Screen, followed by a slider to choose your age (oh no, I’m getting older!). Next, you can select the FPS and quality settings. I chose the maximum option of “High Quality” and 60 FPS because I can. After that, a brief tutorial appears to show you the controls for Pudgy Party.

The tutorial is brief; you learn to jump, double jump, sprint, and turn around while hitting some snowmen with a bat.

Right after the tutorial ends, you get some Pudgy Power points that unlock a reward. The game has a typical progression bar that allows you to unlock multiple rewards as you progress and earn more Pudgy Power.

The first Reward is a “Low Taper Frog” with a Bomb Jump ability.

First Match

My first game is about to begin. Having some experience with Fall Guys and Stumble Guys from my XBOX, I feel the game shares many similarities.

The race was small and easy, as you would expect for a first match, and oh boy, I made it!

This is me! Winning my first game! I won a chest with the mustard costume. Apparently, the competition was easy and the matchmaking took just a few seconds, a sign that there is an active community playing Pudgy Party.

Upon finishing and winning the race, I received 20 points with 20 more left to unlock my second reward from the progression bar, which is 1000 tokens.

In addition, I upgraded my costume to level 2 by earning tickets, which unlocked “Kick,” an ability to knock others up and away.”

Second Game

My Second Game for the Pudgy Party Review had three rounds, which I won again. Well, to be specific, I survived the second one, but I won the rest of the two.

This makes me think that either the game is helping me win because I’m a new player, a typical mainstream gaming tactic to keep newcomers, or I’m playing against a 5-year-old. Then again, I think of my 6-year-old nephew who plays Fall Guys all day long, and I’m no match against him.

Of course, as I’m still a new player, I unlocked Miss Flury, a Rare Character with Freeze Bomb ability.

The Fish Pass

Winning that game earned me more points and unlocked a second progression bar, the “Fish Bar”, which includes a paid option to unlock additional rewards, like in any mainstream mobile game.

The price of unlocking the Fish Pass is 2.69 euros, which is optional and grants additional rewards as you progress through the game. Many of them are Tokens, Sushi, Chests, and Skins.

The Third Game

This time, I will try my new player. Once again, I finished first in the first round by a few seconds difference from the second, and I fell three times.

The second map was Suvrival & Tile Trial, while the second one was LaserDrome, a map where lasers move around and you have to avoid them.

Surprisingly, I won Laserdrome easily, in just a few seconds, so I assume the other players didn’t perform as expected.

This is three wins out of three games in a row for me.

After my recent winnings, it’s time to bring back home my new achievements and unlocks.

This is “Seashella”, an Epic character with Water Surge ability.

Claim Rewards

After the third game, the Claim Rewards section is unlocked and includes the following prize categories, as shown in the images below. Like always, these unlock as your progress in the game and earn more points.

General

Invite Your Friends

After the third match, a new option to invite your friends is presented, and surprisingly, the reward is “Tung Tung Tung Sahur” from the brainrot meme, which went viral on TikTok months ago.

Targeted Audience

I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for my reputation to say this, but I’ve been having a lot of fun with Brain Rot family videos in the past. Perhaps it’s because of my role at an AI company that produces content, or because I never grew up, and I’m still the same “brain-rot kid” I used to be.

Regardless of the circumstances, I understand. Pudgy Party is clearly a game targeted towards kids, just like Fall Guys and Stumble Guys. The Brain Rot Family, with ‘Tralalelo Tralala’ and ‘Crocodilo Bombardino’, is a powerful and effective marketing strategy to bring kids on board.

And while I said Kids earlier, with unreliable information over the internet, I found out that the average age of players for this type of game is around 28 years old. You see, you need the kids to come and maintain the player ratio, but it’s not just kids who play Pudgy Party and similar games; I’ve seen people of all ages having fun with this genre.

Take a look at what’s happening with all these UGC games, such as Roblox and others, which have hundreds, if not thousands, of community-made modes and maps dedicated to Brain Rot Family.

Obviously, I’m no longer a kid, but I still enjoy the game, and I believe anyone who plays it would agree with me that it’s fun and somewhat addictive, as long as you are into mobile gaming.

Dopameme Rush

Dopameme Rush is an event where participants earn points by winning matches and collecting fish. Rewards include costume tickets and cosmetics. The event features a leaderboard to track points and prizes.

The Dopameme Rush includes a leaderboard to track points and prizes.

The Fourth Game

I accidentally hit the match button instead of going to the Claim Rewards section, so here I am, playing my fourth match of the day.

The first round was in the “Mount Up,” which was my first time playing this. I admit it was a bit difficult, and I finished in 4th place.

Next, “Tilted Tiles” was a bit easy, but I didn’t finish first. It took me some time to realize what I had to do.

Last round was the “Don’t Break The Ice” map, and by selecting Seashella with its water ability, I was able to destroy the second level of tiles and make the game harder for others.

Wondering about the result? Obviously, I won!

My feelings right now:

After playing a fifth game, I made it again!

This is five wins out of 5 games, guys. If this is not the pudgiest play ever, I don’t know what is.

I played a total of 10 matches, winning 6 of them and finishing in the top 4 or 5 in the rest. I want to emphasize that the game is highly addictive. Its pastel graphics and engaging gameplay make it enjoyable, which can significantly enhance player retention.

Gameplay Mechanics

Match Structure

Each match consists of multiple rounds (usually 3).

Rounds include races, obstacle courses, and survival challenges.

Players are eliminated each round until a winner emerges.

Player Controls

Move: Simple joystick movement.

Jump: Core mechanic for clearing obstacles, platforms, and hazards.

Collision: Penguins bump and push each other, adding chaos to movement and positioning.

Scoring & Progression

Players earn XP and in-game rewards after every match, win or lose.

Higher placements yield more rewards and faster progression.

Skins and characters can be powered up through continued play.

Obstacles & Hazards

Dynamic elements like spinning hammers, falling platforms, slippery sections, and moving blocks.

Contact with hazards or falling off platforms leads to elimination.

Customization

Players can equip different skins, costumes, and emotes.

Some skins are non-tradable items (NATs), while others can be upgraded into NFTs using talismans.

Competitive Layer (DopaMeme)

A special scoring system is used, where performance in races, survival, and fish collection is tallied.

Encourages speedrunning, accuracy, and mastery of map layouts.

Round Types

Race Round

Objective: Reach the finish line as quickly as possible.

Hazards: Gaps, spinning obstacles, and moving bridges.

Scoring: Progression is determined by placement, with bonus points available in DopaMeme events for speed and fish collected.

Survival Rounds

Objective: Stay on the platform until the timer runs out or until other players are eliminated.

Hazards: Platforms may collapse, hazards spin faster over time, and knockback from other players increases chaos.

Collection Rounds

Objective: Gather as many fish as possible before the timer expires.

Scoring: A higher fish count improves progression and boosts DopaMeme ranking.

Final Round (Elimination)

This is the last stage of the match.

It often involves survival-based challenges or a more difficult race with limited spots.

Leveling Characters

Once you grasp the basics of the game, character leveling becomes essential for progress. To level up, you’ll need specific resources.

How to Acquire Resources

Play and win matches.

Complete daily quests.

Achieve a spot on the leaderboard.

Claim achievements.

Advance in the battle pass.

Visit the shop to collect your daily free items.

Main Resources

Coins: These can be used to buy items in the store. You earn coins from wins, progress in Frosty Berg, the battle pass, or through store purchases.

Character Shards: Each character you own counts as one shard. You need:

10 shards for 2 stars

100 shards for 3 stars

1,000 shards for 4 stars

Shards can be found in chests, through the battle pass, and in the store.

Rubies: Required for leveling characters, rubies are the rarest resource, so use them wisely.

Fish: Collected during matches, fish provide extra hooks that reward you with chests and help you progress in the battle pass.

Collection Menu

This menu displays all unlocked characters.

Characters that can be upgraded are marked with an upgrade icon.

Why Upgrades are Important

Boost Base Stats: Each upgrade increases your character’s speed, jump, health, and weight.

Unlock Special Moves: Upgrades open up new strategies and provide more flexibility during matches.

Each upgrade requires shards and 20 rubies.

Customize your character in the collection menu by tapping the hanger icon located at the top right.

Pudgy Party Tips to Win Every Game

Here is some advice from me to play the game better and maximize your chances of winning.

General Tips

Learn to play one character the best possible way, and then try to learn the others well enough. Think of it like League of Legends or Lineage; if you know your opponent’s skills, you know what to expect.

Learn to use the camera controls; having a full view of the area at all times is crucial, especially in survival maps.

Try to level up your characters; a second attack can win you a battle.

Not all characters are the same; some might not fit in your play style.

Try to remember the maps so you can choose the appropriate character.

Survival Mode Picks

Bloomie: Deadly in 1v1 situations; quick eliminations.

Konk: The bone club knocks enemies straight out.

Mustard: Fireball can be used for space control or knockouts.

Race Mode Picks

Catto: Pounce boosts speed and clears obstacles.

Low Taper Frog: Bomb jump enables consistent outrunning.

Miss Flurry: Freezing ability clears a path and helps avoid swarms.

Why Upgrades Matter

Staying at a low level makes you an easy target.

Leveling up unlocks second abilities, improves stats, and enhances combo potential.

Higher-level Pudgies are faster, stronger, and harder to stop.

Pudgy Patrty Play To Earn, NFTs & Crypto

As you progress in Pudgy Party, you unlock Skins that can be traded. In a recent announcement, Luca Netz, the CEO of Pudgy Penguins, shared that all cosmetics obtained through gameplay will be tradable. He indicated that dedicated players could potentially earn an income exceeding minimum wage by investing time into acquiring and trading skins on a full-time basis.

This reminds me of Axie but in a different way. Let’s have a look at what’s happening at the moment, because from what I understand, not every skin is tradeable, and even if it were, most of them wouldn’t have any value because they can get unlocked by everyone early in the game.

Most Pudgy Party characters are in-game skins that you can power up by playing, without any connection to the blockchain (Non-NFTs). However, some special characters can be upgraded into NFTs. For instance, John Pork, which is currently obtainable, can be combined with a Cheese Talisman at level 3 to create a Tim NFT.

While more free NFTs may be added later, this isn’t a strong money-making opportunity on its own. However, additional NFT characters can be obtained through DopaMeme, which provides an extra earning path.

Below, you can find TIM, the legendary NFT Skin, selling for $2.66 in the Mythical Marketplace, but it can be found for as low as $1.53 from other sellers.

It’s also worth noting that early pre-release players received exclusive legendary skins that are no longer available. These now sell for around $60 to $80, highlighting how rarity and timing can significantly affect value.

Looking ahead, if Pudgy Party becomes more successful, current NFT skins that are earnable now but may be locked later could increase in value. Still, for most players, grinding for hours to obtain a $10 NFT isn’t worthwhile unless they genuinely enjoy the gameplay itself, or later down the road, we have a fully functional NFT-earning cosmetics marketplace.

Earning NFTs Through The DopaMeme Events

DopaMeme offers the chance to earn additional NFTs in Pudgy Party. It’s a leaderboard system where players compete in five matches, with their score calculated based on their best performances in four categories:

Round Placements – up to 20 points

Race Completion Speed – up to 22 points

Fish Collected – up to 9 points

Bonus Character Use – up to 2 points (awarded if a special character is utilized in at least one round)

The higher your total score, the better your rewards.

In every round of DopaMeme, a different character is included as a reward.

Place 1:3: Receive a character with a great Box with prizes.

Place 4:70: Receive a character and a Box with prizes.

Place 71:80 Receive the same box as the first 70, but without the character.

Place 81:90 Receive a different, lesser box.

Place 91:99 Receive another box, lower quality rewards than the tier above.

Place 100:110 Receive 2200 in-game Tokens.

Place 111:200 Receive 100 in-game Tokens.

This system allows top-performing players to unlock exclusive NFT characters that are not accessible to the average player.

As you can see from the image below, I’m currently in place 103, which will land me 2200 tokens. I have the option to restart my score for free and try again for a chance to climb the ladder.

DopaMeme Tips for Higher Scores

During my research, I found a helpful guide on Reddit, posted by the user “GabeSter.” I think it would be valuable to share with you.

To maximize your chances of earning extra NFTs through DopaMeme, consider the following strategies:

Restart if Needed: In your first two games, focus on participating in race rounds. If you don’t compete in a race in either match, restart the app, as those matches won’t count towards your five DopaMeme attempts.

Focus on Speed: After completing your races, try to finish them as quickly as possible. Collect fish along the way for extra points. The fastest finishers can earn up to 22 points for speed.

Aim for Perfect Rounds: Strive to finish in 1st place in both races and win the final survival round. Achieving this will grant you the full 20 points for rank, plus up to 9 points for collecting fish. Additionally, be sure to use a bonus character at least once during your matches to maximize your rewards.l secure another 2 bonus points.

Master Your Pudgies: Different Pudgies come with unique stats and abilities. Experiment to find the one that feels the fastest and gives you the best advantage in races.

At the highest level, success largely depends on speedrunning skills. The players who consistently complete the race maps the fastest will dominate the DopaMeme leaderboards.

Pudgy Party Marketplace

As expected from a Mythical Game, all NFTs are hosted in the Mythical Games Marketplace.

Currently, Pudgy Party Marketplace contains 4,855 assets, including characters and talismans.

Tung Tung Sahur, a figure from the BrainRot family that can be acquired by inviting five friends to the game, is currently selling in the Marketplace for 23.5 MYTHOS Tokens, approximately $1.81.

On the left side of the Marketplace, several filters are available to personalize your search. You can choose between Characters and Talismans, and then refine the search based on rarity, traits, and more.

Generally, the prices have nothing to do with our experience back in 2021. Considering the game is becoming increasingly popular every day, we may see a price increase, which may or may not occur if play-to-earn is more deeply integrated and actually generates revenue for players.

For now, acquiring a skin for 2$ and 5$ is a very reasonable price.

Of course, characters with many shards and a high completion rate are selling for thousands, but that’s just the free market. Anyone can sell at whatever price they want.

The whole Mythical Marketplace works with the MYTHOS token, which obviously includes the Pudgy Party Marketplace, as well as other games from Mythical.

It seems that at the moment of writting this Pudgy Party Review, it looks like the marketplace is just getting started.

Play To Earn in Pudgy Party

I’ll give 50 cents, not just two, and then I’ll take you to the Candy Shop.

Let me begin by saying that I don’t care about the play-to-earn concept. We are in a stage of the industry where we have somewhat failed to establish reliable in-game economies, and that’s a fact.

We could talk for ages on what went wrong and how you can scale a game’s economy to be reliable in the long run, but I won’t do that here. That’s not the case. Pudgy Party is not a play-to-earn game; it’s more like a play-to-belong experience.

Adding an in-game token will only surge the prices in the short-term, make some money for those who buy in early, and once the market (or player activity) starts to see a drop, people will start yelling “It’s a scam”, “I lost my money”, etc.

For someone to make money, whether it’s a token or an in-game economy, someone else has to give that money. When it comes to in-game economies, there are always more free players than those who pay. That’s the nature of it; if you try to change this, you will end up with a game with no players because it’s overly pay-to-play.

From where I stand, cosmetic marketplace monetization is always an excellent choice for players to either make something small back for their time spent having fun, which, honestly, is not about the monetary value, but rather the sense of fulfillment.

If I no longer like that skin, I can trade it for something of equal value. Easy.

Now, I don’t have a clear view of where the Pudgy Party team is going with the play-to-earn aspect. Remember that Luca Netz, the CEO of Pudgy Penguins, said down the road players will be able to make more than the minimum wage by acquiring and trading skins, not sure which country’s minimum wage is referring to though.

On the other hand, a cosmetic marketplace is always an excellent tool for experienced gamers to buy and resell skins later at a higher price. We saw that happening multiple times in titles like Axie Infinity and other games.

How To Connect Pudgy Party to The Marketplace & Mythical Account

The process to join is straightforward; you need to create a regular account with an email address and password, and then connect your EVM (Ethereum) wallet through the account settings.

Additionally, you will need to connect your Pudgy Party account with your Mythical account, which is also an easy process. All you have to do is go to the options in the Pudgy Party game and click the “Connect To Mythical Account” button, the yellow one at the bottom.

By doing these steps, you are fully connected between your Mythical Account (Marketplace), Pudgy Party, and your crypto wallet.

Pudgy Party is Not Just a Game.

As you have already figured out, Padgy Party is all around Pinguins fighting and racing. The characters go deeper as they are part of the Pudgy Penguins IP.

Pudgy Penguins has successfully transitioned from being a niche NFT project into a vibrant cultural brand that resonates deeply with mainstream audiences and boasts a substantial real-world footprint. Over the past year, the adorable Pudgy plush toys have quickly risen to become best-sellers at Walmart, while the brand’s playful and whimsical memes have spread like wildfire across social media platforms, significantly elevating its visibility and engagement.

Several notable events have highlighted the brand’s growing influence in both the cryptocurrency and traditional finance sectors:

April – World Penguin Day: On this special day, major industry players, including MetaMask, Uniswap, Magic Eden, and Binance.US, united in a celebration of Pudgy Penguins, showcasing the brand’s community-driven spirit and widespread appeal.

July – Avatar Takeover: In a coordinated move that sent waves through the market, leading platforms like Coinbase, OpenSea, MoonPay, and OKX changed their profile pictures to feature Pudgy Penguins. This bold gesture sparked a significant market rally, propelling the floor price of Pudgy NFTs and the $PENGU token to new heights.

Nasdaq Spotlight:** In recognition of the brand’s impact, VanEck celebrated Pudgy Penguins by ringing the Nasdaq opening bell. During this historic occasion, CEO Luca Netz boldly declared, “Pudgy Penguins is the face of crypto,” emphasizing the brand’s influential role in the digital economy.

The images below are from Korea. To your left, you can see a “Pudgy Bus,” while to your right is an advertisement billboard in a Korean airport. Both images were shared on X.

This surge in momentum transcends fleeting internet trends; it underscores the project’s established presence within the Web3 community and its acknowledged intellectual property value. With such a robust foundation, Pudgy Party is strategically positioned to attract mainstream Web2 players, foster long-term connections, and enhance brand recognition, all while navigating the complexities often associated with tokenomics.

The heart of Pudgy Penguins has always been about connection and spreading good vibes. Bringing our beloved, viral characters to life in a mobile multiplayer game is an exciting step forward in our mission to create joyful, meaningful experiences for our growing global community. Pudgy Party is fun, accessible to players of all ages, and designed to bring people together.Luca Netz, CEO of Pudgy Penguins

The Verdict

Pudgy Party is the game we have all been waiting for in the crypto gaming industry. It’s not about the play-to-earn, it’s about the quality of the game.

I had a great time while writting this Pudgy Party Review. More than I expected.

It might be a copy of other titles, but this doesn’t mean companies shouldn’t produce similar games. After all, it’s targeted towards the web2 gaming market, and that’s a huge one.

I found myself playing again and again after finishing this and proofreading this Pudgy Part Review, and I honestly can’t remember the last time I played a crypto game and had fun!

Truth be told, crypto games used to deliver stress, the exact opposite of what a game should be. When you take into account the money invested, resources that can be lost, tracking sales, and other expenses, the fun part goes away, not to mention that the vast majority of crypto games are not enjoyable.

Pudgy Party takes all that away and delivers great gameplay, similar to what you would expect from this type of game, with smooth graphics and no lag at all. There wasn’t a single time that the game lagged or the connection dropped.

I found the mechanics great, the gameplay fun, and the progression makes you stick around to play more and more. The fast-paced nature of the game makes it ideal for a 5-minute break from work or reading, or even playing all day long.

To close this Pudgy Party Review, I highly recommend everyone to download the game and give it a try. It’s worth your time because you will have fun.

When it comes to the play-to-earn aspect, it’s not that deep. However, keep in mind that as the game becomes more popular and attracts gamers who spend money, your current NFT skins might gain value in the future, as long as they are not available to earn.
