The BioShock Netflix movie will be based on the first game

We currently know next to nothing about the adaptation of BioShock into a feature film. Netflix is handling the project and has decided to allocate a more limited budget to it.

In a recent interview, producer Roy Lee confirmed that the film is based on the first BioShock game, released in 2007. Lee did not wish to reveal any further details about the feature film. Work on the script is not yet complete.

Francis Lawrence is directing the film. He is also working on The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the reaping, which is coming to theaters in November 2026.
