The axe may fall next week for Arkane Studios and its latest game, Marvel’s Blade. Microsoft is reportedly looking to part ways with the French studio, either through a sale or a permanent closure.
In a recent podcast on Giant Bomb, journalist and insider Jeff Grubb revealed details about the project. According to him, development on Blade is quite far along. A presentation was originally scheduled for later this year. Furthermore, the game could have launched as early as 2027.
Unfortunately, Grubb points out that it needs several extra months of development, and that XBOX simply no longer wishes to pay for it. This was apparently the American company’s stance two days ago. The insider notes that the company is currently changing its mind almost daily and that the fate of Marvel’s Blade is therefore not yet completely sealed.
