While artificial intelligence is already widespread in the video game industry, we are likely seeing only the beginning of this wave. One of the industryโs major players has suggested that a veritable wave of AI-created titles is on the horizon.
This information comes from Michaล Nowakowski, co-CEO of CD Projekt RED. In a recent interview, he noted that players greatly underestimate the complexity involved in creating a video game. He also mentioned the growing number of studios using generative AI. Furthermore, Nowakowski added that he knows from a reliable source that a wave of games designed entirely using artificial intelligence is on the horizon.
“I was in a conversation with a person who started a studio and was telling me: ‘I’m running a primarily AI-based studio. I can have 40 prototypes within a week, two weeks from now I can have five games that I chose are going to be the best and, three weeks from now, I’m actually launching a game’.”
He also says he has doubts about whether this is really the right path to take.
