If youâre an avid player of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, youâre in the right place – and if youâre not, well, perhaps you could be with an open mind.
Developed by Cygames, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is an action RPG that can be enjoyed solo or with friends via four-player co-op.
Just over two years on from launch, itâs on the precipice of releasing a major new DLC expansion, Endless Ragnarok, which is now available to trial on Steam for free.
To set the scene, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is set within the Sky Realm, which is a series of floating islands.
You step into the shoes of a captain of a âskyfaring crewâ as you head out in search of âa fabled island beyond the end of the skiesâ.
Utilising real-time and party-based combat, Granblue Fantasy: Relink sees players partake in their fair share of skirmishes against primal beasts and the secretive Church of Avia organisation.
Endless Ragnarok Builds Upon Granblue Fantasy: Relinkâs 100-Hour-Plus Runtime
Endless Ragnarok expands the base game by introducing new characters, new stories, and new game modes.

âAlthough the Astral Lilith’s machinations lay thwarted, winds of change begin to stir within the Zegagrande Skydom,â begins the expansionâs description.
âStrange beings called the âragnaliaâ herald the end times. Mysterious gateways beckon would-be challengers into a realm of chaos. And even the mighty Beelzebub, with his wings of steel, descends upon Zegagrande.â
Steam Is Packed To The Rafters With Free RPGs Players Can Sample Or Enjoy In Full:
- Steam Drops Must-Play Free Taster For Major RPG That Screams Elden Ring
- Steam Gains Critically Acclaimed Free Open-World RPG After 2 Year Wait
- July’s Most Exciting AAA RPG Drops Free Taster On Steam, PS5, And Xbox
One of the key additions in the expansion is the new ability to call forth summons, which should totally transform battling for those who already have hundreds of hours of Granblue Fantasy: Relink.
Your summons may even be able to make use of a special attack called a primal burst, which sounds as if itâll pack a punch.
There are also new boss fights, additional co-op quest tiers, as well as the new Conflux game mode which is a solo mode made of âunpredictable challengesâ.
Endless Ragnarokâs Demo Has Also Dropped On PlayStation And Nintendo Switch 2
The Endless Ragnarok DLC launches in full on 9 July. As mentioned, thereâs a comprehensive free demo available on Steam as well as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
It features an early slice of the base game, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, to accommodate new players as well as new quests thatâll allow players to try the newly added summons.
The demo also boasts a handy tutorial mode.
âPlay through quests either solo or with others. Cross-play matchmaking with other platforms is available in the demo, with a total of four different quests to try,â devs outlined.
âComplete the three available quests to unlock the fourth quest, âSephiraâs Sanguine Glimmer,â which allows access to Summons, an all-new battle mechanic.
âEach quest grants rewards upon completion that may be redeemed in the full game of Granblue Fantasy: Relink or Granblue Fantasy: Relink â Endless Ragnarok.â
Adjustments and fixes have been made since the last beta, if you partook in that. It is noted that demo content may vary from the full game and, unfortunately, save progress wonât carry over.
If you decide to try this DLC demo out on Nintendo Switch 2 or PlayStation instead, you thankfully donât need a PlayStation Plus or Nintendo Switch Online membership to try the online features.
Thereâs no word on how long the demo is sticking around for, so as always, itâs perhaps better to act sooner rather than later.
