Stranger Than Heaven Gets January Release Date In New Trailer That Features In-Game Tupac And More

Ryu Ga Gotoku Stranger Than Heaven Action Game Yakuza Like a Dragon Tupac

Like A Dragon studio Ryu Ga Gotoku has released a new trailer for Stranger Than Heaven, revealing that the action game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on January 15, 2027. Oh, and Tupac – the deceased West Coast rapper – is in the game, seemingly as himself. 

Revealed during today’s Summer Game Fest showcase, the latest Stranger Than Heaven trailer not only highlights the January 15 release date but also provides a quick look at various big-name members of the cast, including Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Yu Shirota, Dean Fujioka, Moeka Hoshi, Tokuma Nishioka, Tori Kelly, Satoshi Fujihara, Akio Otsuka, Ado, Cordell Broadus, and Bunta Suguwara.

Stranger Than Heaven is a prequel of sorts to RGG Studio’s long-running Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, as it takes place across five time periods – 1915, 1929, 1943, 1951, and 1965 – eventually connecting to the fictional Kamurocho, where the aforementioned action games take place, and the Tojo Clan is active in. 

Stranger Than Heaven hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on January 15, 2027.
