Permanent upgrades are rare in Mina The Hollower, but aside from the ones sold by Drillhardt that improve your Underlab base, there are also different colored cloaks that Mina can wear. These cloaks are a vital part of Mina’s arsenal and, unlike the various Mina The Hollower weapon upgrades and the 60 Mina The Hollower Trinkets you can find on your adventure, they’re automatically equipped.
However, unless you’ve been hunting in this open-world adventure for any of the Mina The Hollower Spark Containers, you’ll likely miss any clues as to the whereabouts of this type of game-changing gear. Both cloaks are also required to achieve a 100% completion rate, so here are their locations, as well as details on how you can change the color of Mina’s sprite to anything other than a basic red, blue, or green.
Mina The Hollower Vitality Vest location
This cloak instantly gives you an additional 25% health, and it stacks with every health rose you collect. Sold by Knitts the Atelier in the eastern part of Ossex for 3,000 Bones, you’ll need two Spark Containers on your person at the point of entry to access this shop, so make sure you have them to hand.
Mina The Hollower Safety Shroud location
The second cloak is hidden, but not all that hard to find if you pay attention to what the Weaver says in the Atelier’s shop. Take a normal train ride (not the event Coltrane Peak ride) and dig through the closed door to the right of the carriage. Dig underground to the west from these private chambers, use two Kears to clear the locked gates, open a chest for a spare Bonestone Shard, and take the Safety Shroud at the back of the room. Upon collecting this cloak, you’ll take 25% less damage when hit by any attack, and this stacks with the Vitality Vest’s effect.
How to apply custom colors
Once you have both cloaks, return to the Atelier in Ossex. Knitts will offer palette color changes for 2,000. Once bought, you can change for free, but it offers no additional perks. There are a large number of presets to pick from, but you can also select from one of three different sprite layers to tailor something truly unique to your tastes.
