The first new Bond since Daniel Craig isn’t on the big screen of the cinema, he’s on the big screen of your living room or maybe the medium sized screen of your PC. 007 First Light sees IO Interactive tell a new and original story for the iconic British spy, and if you’ve caught our review in progress for the game, you’ll know that we think that it’s an excellent pivot away from the stoic assassination action of Hitman.
What better way to see how the game holds up than to see it in action, though? We’ve finished streaming, but played through the start of the game, before jumping into some TacSim scenarios.
The one problem is that the UK is ensnared in an unseasonal heatwave right now, and my PC is in a room that catches an awful lot of sunlight in the afternoons. Even James Bond might struggle in these conditions, and he’s been through that whole thing with the chair and the rope.  So… I’m going to start from the beginning, and see how far we can get before I turn into a puddle.
Exciting to see a new chapter in the Bond universe! It’s always fun to experience iconic characters in different formats. Looking forward to the gameplay and the fresh take on the franchise!
Absolutely! It’s fascinating how the franchise continues to evolve while maintaining those classic elements we love. I’m curious to see how they’ll balance the nostalgia with fresh storytelling in this new installment.
