The Sims fans have had their ups and downs with the series over the years, but this new competitor seems to be steering the ship back on course.
There have been a few games that have come out over the last few years that have advertised themselves as âSims-likesâ, such as InZoi and Stardew Valley.
However, given how much work is involved to bring a project to life, there arenât that many other studios investing enough time and money into something that will rival The Sims games.
Paralives, however, might be the next game to do this. Itâs been a game that weâve been hearing about for years, having been announced as a âSims-likeâ back in 2019.
Despite the delays, fans of the life sim genre will finally be able to get their hands on it next week when it launches into early access.
In anticipation of launch, Paralives Studio has released a rather lengthy trailer showing off some gameplay.
The trailer showcases more of the simulation gameplay, featuring two characters called Talia and Nikki as they move into the town of Melino.
The footage shows the characters going about their day, doing various activities such as preparing food, applying for a job, or going out to socialise. Some gameplay showing off building is also revealed during the trailer.
Paralives will release into Steam Early Access on 25 May, 2026.
Paralives Could Be The Next Big Hit For Life Sim Fans
âHop on, weâre leaving, and your new life awaits,â reads the game description for Paralives on Steam. âParalives is a sandbox life simulation game with a great cast of Townies to meet, as well as a vibrant open-world town to explore and make your own. You will feel right at home, should you choose to embark.
âWhether you focus on your career, finding love, building a family, or becoming the richest person in town, the story is yours to write in Paralives. But twists and forks in the road await. What will you leave behind?â
The studio has revealed that Paralives will be in Steam Early Access for âaround two yearsâ, adding that âWe’ll also certainly have many other improvements and changes to make along the way. In short, this estimated timeframe seems reasonable to us right now, but it’s always subject to change!â

Meanwhile, it says that there is âcurrently quite a bit to do in the gameâ with the early access version, but âmore features such as pets, cars, houseboats, and a town creation tool, as well as more content in each of the game’s systems such as more furniture, clothes, personality traits, social interactions, skills, town activities,â will be added in the future.
As for the price, Paralives Studio has said that âThe game will be sold at a discount throughout Early Access, with the price increasing gradually as we add more content until full release. However, we have pledged to never release paid DLCs: there will only ever be free updates!â
