Embracer Group owns prestigious franchises that have unfortunately faded somewhat over time. Several commercial failures and other projects canceled along the way have done these great series a great deal of harm.
That is why the Swedish company has decided to adopt a different strategy. Through the new company Fellowship Entertainment, which will begin operations in 2027, there will be a licensing initiative for third-party studios to work on various major franchises such as Legacy of Kain, TimeSplitters, Saints Row, and Deus Ex.
This was announced by Lars Wingefors, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Embracer.
“In addition to our biggest franchises, we will more actively explore external partnerships around our catalog of other well-known franchises such as Saints Row, Legacy of Kain, Deus Ex, Red Faction, The Mask, Thief, TimeSplitters, and many others.
Dark Horse will be operationally integrated into the new Intellectual Property and Licensing business unit, drawing on its extensive experience in co-producing films and television shows with Hollywood partners.”
