With early access starting in less than a week, Unknown Worlds Entertainment has released a new trailer for Subnautica 2, highlighting the playerâs arrival on a new world. And as youâd expect, it happens in as violent a way as possible. Check out the latest gameplay below.
Once youâve got your bearings, the usual gameplay loop follows. Break down materials with tools, craft better tools, harvest samples, and then analyze them in your lab. What makes the story special this time is that mysterious tree â that massive structure seen in the cinematic trailer. Youâre warned not to go there, which means youâll absolutely be going there.
The other big change is that you wonât be doing it alone, as Subnautica 2 supports up to four players in co-op. Itâs most notable when navigating underwater with vehicles, as some have bars to hang off of and additional seats. Of course, the entire game is still playable solo, but co-op should add even more to the tension.
Subnautica 2 releases in early access on May 14th for PC and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be available on day one for Game Pass. While all the content has yet to be outlined, Unknown Worlds promises âmore biomes, creatures and Leviathansâ than in the previous gamesâ early access launches.

This gameplay trailer for Subnautica 2 looks exciting! The new elements and mysterious tree have definitely piqued my interest. Can’t wait for early access to dive back into this fascinating underwater world!
