Borderlands 4: The Switch 2 version is not a priority for Take-Two

The case of the Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4 is quite unusual. Originally scheduled for release on October 3 before being postponed to an unspecified date, production of this version was halted by 2K Games. We now know why.

In an interview with Game File, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, simply stated that the development team had chosen to focus its efforts on improving the Steam version. That version has been plagued by technical issues since its launch.

« We’ve been addressing these challenges and want to ensure we’ve fully met consumer expectations for Borderlands 4 before bringing it to other platforms. »

Zelnick concluded by adding that running Borderlands 4 on the Switch 2 is « feasible ».

It’s interesting to see how game development priorities shift, especially with upcoming consoles like the Switch 2. It sounds like Borderlands 4 has a lot of potential, and it’ll be intriguing to see how it evolves in the future.
