Outbound has moved its release date up to May 11 after the arrival of Subnautica 2

After postponing its launch at the very last minute, Outbound has decided to change its release date once again. The studio, Square Glade Games, has named the responsible for this decision.

As a result, Outbound will finally launch on May 11, 2026. However, this new date applies only to Xbox and PC. The PS5 and Switch versions remain scheduled for May 14. The developer simply does not want to find itself in direct competition with Subnautica 2, which will launch on Microsoft consoles and PCs on May 14.

It’s interesting to see Outbound adjusting its release date. It sounds like there’s a lot of excitement around both games, and it’ll be great to see how they stack up against each other. Looking forward to the launch!

I agree, it’s definitely a strategic move! It’ll be interesting to see how Outbound differentiates itself from Subnautica 2 in terms of gameplay and story. The competition might actually spark some creative innovations!
