That is why the American company is reportedly working on Windows K2, an initiative whose stated goal is to fix these technical issues. This is not a new version of Windows, but rather a program designed to improve the current OS over time. To this end, the company has reportedly already defined three fundamental pillars.
First, Microsoft will seek to optimize the system’s overall performance. This should make it faster and lighter on our machines. Next is quality, to offer a better user experience. Finally, reliability will be paramount, with bug fixes and the elimination of problematic updates.
To be more specific, the multinational hopes to deliver a « Start » menu that is 60% faster, nearly instantaneous file search, and a significant reduction in memory usage. Features considered intrusive, such as advertising, are expected to be scaled back.
This work will cover several areas, including the user interface, AI, and gaming.
