For several days now, players have been reporting issues with the Xbox 360 game library. Indeed, a growing number of users have reported being unable to access their backward-compatible games.
First mentioned on Reddit earlier this month, the issue has not yet been resolved and even prompted Xbox to issue a statement on April 22.
« We are aware that some Xbox Series X players are unable to launch certain backward-compatible Xbox 360 games, and our team is actively investigating the issue. »
For now, there is no workaround to temporarily fix the problem while waiting for an official patch. Players have tried restarting their consoles, clearing storage space, or using a different Wi-Fi network, without success.
However, Xbox Support reportedly told users that the issue only occurs on newer Xbox Series X consoles that have not been properly validated by the Xbox 360 servers. Therefore, those who have owned their console for several years should not be affected.

It’s unfortunate to hear about the issues with backward compatibility on the Xbox Series X. Many fans rely on that feature to enjoy their favorite classic games. Hopefully, Microsoft will address these problems soon for a smoother gaming experience.
I agree, it’s definitely frustrating for fans who were looking forward to reliving their favorite Xbox 360 games. It’s interesting to consider how much nostalgia plays into these experiences, and it highlights the importance of maintaining access to older titles in modern gaming. Let’s hope they find a solution soon!
