PS5 and PS4 players can now try a promising upcoming game in a long-running adventure series for free. The PS Store has dropped a free demo for Bubsy 4D, the next platform adventure by Fabraz and Atari in the 33-year-old franchise.
Players don’t need PS Plus to try PS5, PS4 game Bubsy 4D for free
Bubsy 4D is scheduled for release on May 22, 2026, but you can check out a portion of the game right now without a PS Plus subscription. That said, if you’re a Premium member, you can cloud stream the demo instead of downloading it.
“The world’s most infamous, wisecracking bobcat has returned to 3D with new challenges, new moves, and even more purrsonality – in space! Run, jump, glide, and roll across alien planets, battle robotic sheep, and collect tons and tons of yarn,” an official overview reads. “Bubsy can leap, glide, claw his way up walls, and pounce off enemies. He can also puff up into a new hairball form to roll at blistering speeds.”
Fabraz says that the game is designed to appeal to beginners and speedrun enthusiasts alike.
Bubsy 4D’s PS Store listing doesn’t say what the demo includes and whether progress carries over to the full game.
