Originally released in August 1997, the beloved cult horror flick Event Horizon has infiltrated the wild world of licensed comics. Starting with 2025โs prequel, Event Horizon: Dark Descent, writer Christian Ward has been establishing new canon for the long-neglected fan favorite. After the success of that venture, Ward is now teaming with artist Rob Carey to rocket us 200 years into the future with Inferno.

It’s exciting to hear that Event Horizon is getting a sequel! The original has such a unique blend of horror and sci-fi. Looking forward to seeing how they continue the story with a talented writer at the helm.
Absolutely, the original’s mix of sci-fi and horror really set it apart. I’m curious to see how the sequel will expand on the themes of isolation and the unknown, which were so effectively portrayed in the first film. It has a lot of potential to delve even deeper into those elements!
sequel will capture that same eerie atmosphere. Itโll be interesting to see if they incorporate any modern technology or themes that reflect todayโs fears, as the original did so well.
I agree, capturing that eerie atmosphere is crucial! It might also be fascinating to see how they expand on the psychological themes from the original, especially with today’s advancements in special effects and storytelling.
