When Warner Bros. Discovery announced the intention to sell itself to the highest bidder, Hollywood was sent into a rightful tizzy. To quote Alien vs. Predator: βWhoever wins, we lose.β Netflix? Paramount Skydance? It wasnβt so much a fear of which studio could not wield the DC comic book movie playbook or own the rights to The Wizard of Oz, so much as a fear of consolidation. Folding a major studio into another is ultimately a labor issue and a move that puts fewer people at the top deciding what is culturally relevant.
