Quantic Dream announced Star Wars Eclipse back in December 2021. The game has been gone since and does not yet appear to be ready for release. If we are to believe the latest information from Insider Gaming, we will need to be very patient.
Indeed, development of the game is reportedly progressing very slowly. While much of the content is now complete, the polishing work is said to be extremely tedious. As a result, the release may not happen for several years.
Publisher NetEase reportedly did not want to invest in expanding the development team. The Chinese firm and Quantic Dream are reportedly counting on revenue generated by Spellcasters Chronicles, which launched last February, to allocate new resources to Star Wars Eclipse. If Spellcasters were to be a commercial failure, NetEase might decide to halt its investments in Quantic Dream.
