If there’s anything that modern hits such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 demonstrate, it’s that fantasy games need the backdrop of stellar world-building to help their stories shine. In many instances, this often means creating a world from scratch, but much of the time, the “best” world-building is shown in how a game’s setting influences both the story and gameplay at large.
