Singer Ed Sheeran has revealed that he turned down an official collaboration with Fortnite. Epic Games reportedly offered him a partnership, likely in the form of a virtual concert or in-game content, similar to what has been done with other artists.
However, Ed Sheeran explains that he wasn’t interested, feeling that this type of collaboration didn’t really fit his image or his way of working. He notes that he prefers more authentic projects that align with his personality, rather than marketing campaigns tied to video games.
Despite this refusal, he remains open to other forms of collaboration in the future, if they feel more natural to him. Fortnite regularly partners with music stars to attract new audiences, such as Metallica, Eminem, Snoop Dogg… This refusal shows that even very popular artists are not automatically drawn to appearing on games.
