Something for the Weekend – 21/03/26

It’s been a funny old week where some of the most exciting news stories have been about console firmware updates. Backward compatibility can now be much better on Switch 2, PS5 Pro owners can get better PSSR upscaling… but then there’s the absolutely bizarre push from Nvidia with DLSS 5 to have Instagram or TikTok AI filters slathered across your games.

With the release of Avowed on PS5 recently, Jim opined that it’s making the long wait for The Elder Scrolls 6 a little easier to handle, while Aran previewed the humorous point and click adventuring of The Darkside Detective: Backside of the Moon.

Rounding out the week, What We Played featured Crimson Desert, Marathon & Towerborne.
