Long kept under wraps, we are starting to see more and more of the console versions of Crimson Desert. The Digital Foundry channel has posted a lengthy preview of Pearl Abyss’ game on PS5 Pro.
Of the three graphics modes available, Sony’s machine offers ray tracing in each one. The 4K video beautifully illustrates the game’s sumptuous open-world environments. The water rendering is gorgeous, the night is extremely dark, and the frame rate is very stable. However, a loss of fluidity can still be noticed during resource-intensive sequences.
Crimson Desert looks simply magnificent. There are, of course, some visual imperfections with elements of the scenery appearing in the distance and occasional pronounced image noise. This second flaw could be mitigated with the new version of PSSR.
That being said, we’ll have to wait and see about the quality of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, which haven’t really been shown yet.
