The SAG-AFTRA union suspends its involvement with Mega Man Dual Override

Announced at The Game Awards last December, Mega Man: Dual Override will be released in 2027 on all existing platforms. However, the game is going through some trouble in the United States.

The SAG-AFTRA union, which represents more than 160,000 actors, extras, and media professionals worldwide, has issued a work stoppage order on Mega Man: Dual Override. Members are asked not to perform voice-over work until further notice.

SAG-AFTRA states that the game’s producer has not taken the necessary steps to become a signatory project of the union. A contractual dispute is believed to be at the root of this disagreement. Ben Diskin, who voices Mega Man, has withdrawn from Mega Man: Dual Override for the time being.

It is unclear whether this conflict will have any impact on the game’s development.
