If Town to City isnât a game thatâs already on your radar, it absolutely should be.
Developed by Galaxy Grove and published by Kwalee, Town to City is a charming cosy city builder that launched last year.
It combines the charm of Stardew Valley with the voxel-based gameplay of Minecraft, as players move to an idyllic 19th century Mediterranean town.
Your goal is to help the town prosper into a flourishing city. Youâll freely place and form buildings with complete creative autonomy over every step of the process.
Donât let the phrase âcity builderâ put you off as itâs not typically a genre I dip my toe into either, but Town to City is so absolutely gorgeous that Iâd urge you to give this game a try.
The reviews already speak for themselves.

Town to City is sitting at âOverwhelmingly Positiveâ on PC storefront Steam with 97% positive reviews. Thereâs no critical consensus yet as the game is in early access.
Itâs currently only available on Steam, but Iâm really hoping we could see it expand to other platforms when the 1.0 launch eventually arrives.
In the meantime though, Town to City is welcoming in a hefty new free update.
Town to City Is Launching a Terraforming Update, With Its 1.0 Release Coming Soon
The Terraforming Update is due to land this month.
Itâll allow players to craft the landscape using a new paintbrush tool that can create rises and dips in the terrain, plus there are new props to play with. Youâll soon be able to build a playground, for example.
New bridges are set to be introduced alongside several quality of life features.
Undo brushing, quick decoration removal, and collision free decorating are just a few key examples.
As I said, the update is due to land in March although an exact date has not yet been announced.
Players are already delighted by whatâll soon be on offer though.
âPerfect time to start a new playthrough,â wrote one viewer of the updateâs trailer.
âWow. I canât wait for this,â added another.
If you do decide to pick up Town to City, itâs currently on offer on Steam until 16 March. Itâll set you back ÂŁ18.69 instead of ÂŁ21.99, saving you 15%.
If youâre not quite ready to commit, you can also find a free demo on the gameâs Steam listing.
Beyond the Terraforming Update, a small spring micro update is in the works with seasonal decorations included.
After that, the gameâs 1.0 launch and Big Expanded Campaign Update are due to land in Q2 of this year, so weâre talking April to June.
Another major update is then planned in the second half of 2026. This game is going from strength to strength.
