Last July, Killing Floor 3 was released on consoles and PC. Unfortunately, the cooperative action/horror game did not meet with the expected success and was largely ignored by players.
As a result, developer Tripwire Interactive found itself in turmoil and had to reduce its workforce. On LinkedIn, the company stated that it had laid off 23 people across various departments. No specific reason was given other than the usual “gaming industry […] evolves” and the need to adapt strategically in order to keep pace.
It remains to be seen whether Tripwire will be able to recover from this.
