Marathon already hints at post-launch content with its first two seasons

Bungie is betting big this week with the release of Marathon on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC on March 5. After a mixed “Server Slam” last weekend, we now get a glimpse of the new features that will be added after launch.

Free seasonal updates will be rolled out soon. No paid expansions or DLC will be required to enjoy these new features. Players will be able to access new skills, and the season will begin with a loot reset.

During the season, contracts and faction upgrades will be used to boost our stats or earn quality equipment. Our avatar’s base power will gradually increase. Of course, cosmetic items, unlocked titles, and Codex progress will be carried over from one season to the next.

For Season 1, which will run until June, players will have access to a new area, ranked matches, additional implants, a new weapon, and an event. Finally, the second season will introduce a new Runner (the game’s classes), a system, mods, enemies, and much more.
