From now until March 2, Marathon is available to play for free on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC for a server slam. The game will be released on these platforms on March 5, 2026.
The technical test attracted a lot of curious players, setting a record of 143,621 simultaneous players on Steam at the time of writing. It remains to be seen whether this popularity will carry over to the full game.
Marathon is a first-person PvPvE extraction shooter.
