The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road | PS5, PS4

Every legend starts somewhere, and in The Elder Scrolls Online, it starts with you. Write your story into a vibrant chapter of Tamriel’s distant past that takes place nearly 1,000 years before the iconic The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and discover a world steeped in adventure and possibility. Travel the vast land of Tamriel and discover a world of adventure. Explore the mushroom forests of Morrowind, battle Daedric foes in the realms of Oblivion, or face off against other players in PvP combat. The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road grants instant access to all major Chapter zones, biomes and quest arcs across Tamriel.

Monster Hunter Rise is a good pick up as it was once in the Game Catalog then removed months ago, so those that started through PS Plus and haven’t bought the game can pick up where they left off. It would have been a better deal if it came with the game’s Sunbreak expansion as the base game gets discounted relatively often nowadays.

The interesting addition is The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Road collection, as this MMORPG has always been a very expensive game to get into. The base game does have a good amount of content to start off with, but going beyond that does require a big commitment for more content. This gives you all previously added DLC released before the game shifted its yearly content plan, so once you claim this version of the game, all that’s missing is the 2025 Content Pass, which is rather costly without a discount.

What’s the Difference Between Monthly Games and the Game Catalog?

To clear things up, Monthly Games and the games available in the Game and Classic Catalog are different:

  • Monthly Games are available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers (Essential, Extra, and Premium). Once you claim them, they’re yours to keep in your library for as long as you remain subscribed. So far, games claimed through Monthly Games have not been removed from your library.

  • The Game Catalog (and Classic Catalog) is only available to Extra and Premium/Deluxe subscribers. These libraries offer a rotating selection of games that can be played while they’re available. However, unlike Monthly Games, titles in the catalog can leave the service, meaning you lose access even if you’re still subscribed.

There’s still time to pick up the February Monthly Games lineup, as subscribers can add Undisputed, Subnautica: Below Zero, Ultros, and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown until March 3.
