Blue Prince was one of 2025’s best games, and making it took a toll on its creator. Tonda Ros said in an interview that he was working about 80 hours per week for eight straight years to get the puzzle game out the door. Unsurprisingly, he doesn’t plan to do that again.
“I was working, I think, 80 hours a week for eight years straight,” he told Aftermath. He went on to say he does not plan to put himself through the same struggle for whatever he makes next.
“It was an incredibly long journey, so it might take as much time [to make my next game], but I certainly won’t be working as hard. … That’s just not sustainable now. It’s a young man’s game,” he said.
