Back in March 2025, Nintendo launched the Switch port of the excellent Xenoblade Chronicles X. Despite its initial release on Wii U, Monolith Soft’s title still pushed the tech of the Japanese company’s hybrid console to the limit.
Now, the RPG will be able to fully flourish on a new platform with the announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. This version is available now as a digital download for $64.99. A paid upgrade is also available for $4.99 for players who own the Switch game. A physical edition will be released on April 16, 2026.
On Switch 2, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is capable of running at up to 60 FPS and with a resolution of up to 4K. A trailer briefly showcases these improvements.
