Released exclusively on PC in February 2016, Devil Daggers has just celebrated its 10th anniversary. The frenetic shooter created by Sorath has “overwhelmingly positive” reviews on Steam, with 96% of the 7,245 online reviews being favorable.
In a message posted on Valve’s store, the developer revealed that 350,000 players have tried Devil Daggers over the past decade. Since good news never comes alone, Devil Daggers 2 has also been announced. The game is currently in development and no release date has been given.
Featuring a retro-horror aesthetic, Devil Daggers plunges the player into a single arena. They are armed with daggers, and the slightest contact with an enemy results in game over. It is essential to keep moving to maximize your chances of survival. The ultimate goal is to stay alive for 500 seconds, but reaching this threshold is nearly impossible unless you play for dozens, if not hundreds, of hours.
