This April 24, Capcom will release a brand new license called Pragmata on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC. This third-person single-player shooter is set in the near future, aboard a lunar station.
In this science fiction adventure, the player takes on the role of Hugh, who is accompanied by an android named Diana. It is Diana who has been featured most prominently in the Pragmata promotional campaign. Sadly, this media overexposure of the virtual girl has led to some extremely problematic behavior.
Indeed, as reported by Kotaku, a moderator of the r/Pragmata subreddit chose to resign following a massive influx of child pornography messages. Another community centered around the game was even shut down. Numerous comments deemed obscene were also deleted, as were jokes and sexual content. This led some Reddit members to go so far as to create a new subreddit entirely focused on posting suggestive images of Diana.
Needless to say, the initiative was strongly denounced and condemned before the forum was completely removed by Reddit.
