When it was released in November 2018, Fallout 76 seemed destined to be a resounding failure. This online entry was plagued by numerous bugs, the content was disappointing, and the collector’s edition even sparked controversy due to the questionable quality of it all.
More than seven years have passed since these setbacks, and things have improved significantly for Fallout 76. Updates have brought a lot of new features, and while the game is not yet perfect, the main issues have been fixed. Only the pricing policy for microtransactions (particularly with the Fallout 1st subscription) is still a subject of debate.
In any case, in a recent interview, Todd Howard made no secret of his pride in Fallout 76. In fact, the creative director of Bethesda Game Studios goes so far as to say that it is the title he is most proud of.
“In many respects, it’s the game that we’ve done that I’m the most proud of. It’s so hard to do and then maintain as a relevent game, and I think if you look across the industry, the amount of games like it that there have been or come and gone, and here’s 76 still there with big numbers and doing well.”
Finally, Howard added that everyone at the studio loves the game and that a lot of content for it is in the works.
