During a lengthy interview on YouTube with the channel itmeJP, Will Power, who handles marketing and public relations for Pearl Abyss, provided details about the content of Crimson Desert. The game is expected to be released on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC on March 19, 2026.
In addition to stating that there will be no microtransactions in the open-world action-adventure game, Power also confirmed that all character voices come from real actors. The South Korean studio did not use artificial intelligence for the voice acting.
“I’m not going to criticize other games, but all of our voices are done by humans. I’m refraining from saying that 100% of the NPCs have human voices […] because if that’s not the case for even one NPC, I don’t want the internet to accuse me of lying. But yes, all the main NPCs and those in side quests have actors’ voices. The game features voice acting in different languages.”
For now, it’s important to note that Crimson Desert will only be voiced in English, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. The text will be available in 14 different languages.
Will Power also explains that he understands players whose languages will not be supported for voiceovers. He states that it is “a huge task” that would take a long time given the ambition of a title like Crimson Desert. Delaying the game would be necessary in order to add other languages.
