It’d be a brave person to suggest to their other half that they’d like to play Reanimal as a Valentine’s Day game. Yes, it’s co-op, but you’re also running and sneaking through the world trying to avoid horrifying modified animal monstrosities. Then again, maybe that’s preferable to the tensions that head-to-head game of tennis can bring, even if’s a bright, colourful Mario Tennis game. Maybe it’s best for couples to avoid both of this week’s biggest releases?

While we’ve not been able to pin a score on it, but I’ve made a start on High on Life 2 this week and have some early thoughts on the game. I also had a great time playing Pokémon Pokopia, savouring its life sim aspects, relaxed Animal Crossing vibes, but also seeing other games and genres as a gameplay grounding.
Dom, meanwhile, went hands on with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, the latest in the RPG spin-off with a more ecological focus.
Rounding out the week, What We Played featured Reanimal, Romeo is a Dead Man and High on Life 2.
