I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I love goofy mods. The goofier the better in my humble opinion and while I’ve seen some wild creations in my time this one is definitely one of my favourites.
This effectively turns a beloved PlayStation 2 platformer into a first-person shooter and I absolutely love it.
Some mad lad has modded the map from Jak And Daxter: The Precursor Legacy into Half-Life, calling it “Gordon and Daxter” instead.
Sprinting around the map, blasting enemies and bunny hopping off the terrain looks like a lot of fun and if my Steam Deck allows it I’ll definitely be giving this one a go.
Footage of the mod in action was shared on X and like me the fans ate it up, praising the bizarre collaboration. Check it out here!

One player asked if the mod was” just for bhopping and speedrunning or is it somehow playable like a normal fps?” The mod’s creator swiftly replied that you can indeed complete the full game like this, wild.
Another commenter chimed in with an even better idea, saying they’d love to “see this in Banjo-Kazooie next.”
It’d probably be a bit trickier to get working but I love the vision. The banjo is a fearsome weapon.

Jak And Daxter and Half-Life are both video game series I hope to see return some day, but in the meantime fan-made creations like this are doing God’s work.
Naughty Dog are the devs responsible for Jak And Daxter and, while they know fans want to see the duo return one day, they worry there’s just not enough interest within the studio to make it happen. Games like The Last of Us Part 3 and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet are the developer’s priority at the moment.
As for Half-Life the long-awaited Half-Life 3 is said to be in development and due an announcement very soon, but gamers have been saying that for years now so we’re not holding our breath. If Half-Life 3 does get announced though it might very well break the internet.
So there you have it, two franchises that still clearly have a dedicated fanbase stuck in development limbo.
There is hope though. If Rayman and Castlevania can return like we saw in PlayStation’s February State of Play I’d say anything is possible.
