Red Dead Redemption 2 players are hoping that the rumoured PS5 Edition will fix one of its biggest flaws.
In my opinion, Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the greatest video games of all time, as reflected by its fantastic 97 Metacritic score, more than earning the “Must-Play” accolade.
“America, 1899. Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde Gang are outlaws on the run. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal, and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive,” reads the synopsis of the game.
“As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang that raised him.”
For a game that was originally released in 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in almost every way, Red Dead Redemption 2 probably puts most modern AAA releases to shame. Whether it’s the huge and vibrant open-world, the fun gunslinging action, the gripping story and stunning visuals, simply put, it’s a masterpiece.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Isn’t Quite Perfect to Some
“If the rumours are true and RDR2 is getting a PS5 upgrade, are you expecting them to also fix epilogue johns character model?” asked Redditor Dude_788.
What’s the Issue With John Marston’s Face in RDR2?
In the epilogue, for some reason, Rockstar Games used Arthur Morgan’s character model as the base for John Marston. Which is why, when you look at the image above, John looks a bit off.
The image on the left is John Marston in the vast majority of Red Dead Redemption 2, and the image on the right is where the Arthur Morgan character model was used. Once you see it, Arthur Morgan can’t be unseen.
“I am expecting the bare minimum with a full price tag,” replied Reach-Nirvana. “If I am proven wrong, I’ll be delightfully surprised.”
“I’m expecting absolutely nothing besides a 4K mode and 60fps patch,” said IneptFortitude. “But my hope tells me that it’s taking so long because the game wasn’t complete on release, and the cut content is being partially restored”
Of course, it’s worth keeping in mind that rumours of a current-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 have been making the social media rounds for years, so this speculation should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
If a new version of Red Dead Redemption 2 comes to fruition, we’ll let you know ASAP.
