In less than four months after its release, Rayman sold 400,000 copies in Europe, and to date, has sold over 3 million copies worldwide. The commercial success of this production led to the creation of an entire video game franchise centered around the title character, which has spawned a total of 45 games across multiple platforms, including 5 core games and several spin-offs.
