Horizon Meets No Man’s Sky in Gorgeous Steam PC Freebie

Horizon Meets No Man’s Sky in Gorgeous Steam PC Freebie

Horizon meets No Manโ€™s Sky in this new Steam demo that you can download on PC today.

Sometimes, no matter how good a gameplay trailer is, it can still fool us. After all, what’s shown in a trailer might not be a genuine reflection of the full game.

I think weโ€™ve all been there, buying a new game that looked great, but it ended up being total pants. Duke Nukem Forever, I still don’t forgive you!

Itโ€™s why subscription services such as PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass can be a great benefit. For starters, even on the highest subscription tier, the price is still much lower than a newly released AAA game. On top of that, we potentially have hundreds of games to play, free DLC, discounts, and more.

That being said, perhaps the most effective way to save money is by playing a free playable demo. Thankfully, a plethora of free demos can be found on digital storefronts on every gaming platform.

A Sci-Fi Shooter for Horizon and No Manโ€™s Sky Fans

However, when it comes to sheer volume of free demos, which most certainly vary in quality, the PC store Steam has more than most, and one demo I’d like to show you today could be for fans of Horizon and No Manโ€™s Sky.

The demo in question is for the indie game BioMech Vendetta, developed and published by Revolt Games.

โ€œAn action RPG shooter where you battle biomechanical monsters, evolve your soldier, and command a powerful companion as you fight to reclaim a planet reborn,โ€ reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.

In terms of comparisons, the world of BioMech Vendetta certainly looks to be inspired by No Manโ€™s Sky with its colourful landscape and plant life. As for Horizon, well, just look at the mechanical creatures in the game and it’s plain as day.

From a gameplay perspective, BioMech Vendetta looks like a simple pick-up and play third-person shooter with waves of enemies. It also has RPG elements that allow you to customise and upgrade your gear and weaponry. Judging by the gameplay trailer, at least, it looks like the game could be some fun.

BioMech Vendetta does not have a release date at the time of writing, but its demo is at least available to download right now. You can also add it to your Steam wishlist to be notified of its launch.
