The longest State of Play ever takes place tonight, so here’s everything you need to know ahead of time, including when it starts and the rumoured video game reveals.
In case you missed the annoucement, a new State of Play is airing later today and while these showcases tend to be a mixed bag, this one has the potential to be one of the most significant in a long time.
That’s because it’ll be over an hour long and with Sony promising ‘the latest from teams at PlayStation Studios’ as well as its partners, there’s hope that there’ll be some brand new first party PlayStation 5 games and not just updates on ones we already know about.
To best prepare you for the showcase, we’ve put together a quick guide on how and when to watch it, as well as which games are confirmed, expected, and rumoured to make an appearance.
When is the February 12 State of Play?
Today’s State of Play airs at 10pm GMT and is expected to end sometime after 11pm, since Sony has said it will feature ‘60+ minutes of news, gameplay updates, and announcements.’

It will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch via the official PlayStation accounts. The YouTube stream is already up and has almost 1,700 people watching it already, as well as an active live chat.
What first party PS5 games will be shown during the State of Play?
Officially, Sony hasn’t confirmed any specific games for the State of Play, but Bungie has said via Discord, as spotted by Gematsu, that you can expect an update on its Marathon extraction shooter.
Not only that, but there’ll be a separate Marathon livestream right after the showcase ends, with Bungie also hinting at some kind of beta session in the future.
It can be safely assumed Returnal successor Saros will get a new trailer, since it’s Sony’s next big exclusive and is due on April 30, although Marvel’s Wolverine, the PlayStation 5’s big holiday game, apparently won’t be.
When a fan on X asked developer Insomniac Games for an update on the game, Insomniac responded with, ‘Spring 2026,’ implying that the game won’t be at tonight’s showcase. Or at least any mention of Wolverine will be minimal and/or cover already confirmed info.
This could also point to a separate State of Play focused entirely on Wolverine in the coming months; something Sony has done before for other games, like Ghost Of Yōtei and 007 First Light.
Plus, it makes tonight’s showcase more intriguing. If Wolverine isn’t there, that’s more time that can be spent on wholly new PlayStation 5 games.
That said, don’t expect a Horizon 3 tease, since most of Guerrilla Games is reportedly working on multiplayer spin-off Hunters Gathering, according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier. The spin-off was announced last week so if it makes an appearance, it hopefully won’t eat up too much time.
An update on Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is expected, since a Steam page for it went live recently and accidentally confirmed some unannounced details, including a roster size of 20 characters.
The biggest rumour circulating the State of Play is a new God Of War game, specifically a 2.5D Metroidvania spin-off, which could even be a multiplatform launch.

What third party PS5 games will be shown during the State of Play?
As for third party announcements, Ubisoft’s eternally rumoured Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake apparently won’t be shown, according to insider shinobi602, but Rayman creator Michel Ancel did recently give away that an HD re-release of the original Rayman game is happening, so that might appear.
Final Fantasy fans have their fingers crossed for an official reveal of the third Final Fantasy 7 Remake game, as there are rumours it could launch as early as next year.
Capcom might pop in for one final reminder to pre-order Resident Evil Requiem, which launches February 27. It’s also working on a big Monster Hunter Wilds expansion but has already said more info on that isn’t coming till the summer.
Given it’s consistently appeared in past State of Plays, Sega could have something to show, even if it’s just new DLC characters for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
Konami, meanwhile, probably won’t be there, but that’s only because it’s airing its own Silent Hill showcase at midnight tonight; one that will provide updates on Silent Hill: Townfall. So together with Marathon that’s three separate showcases all happening tonight.
That game was announced in 2022 with a vague teaser and no real info, aside from the fact it’s in development at Scottish studio Screen Burn.
