Cyberpunk 2077 Gains Additional Quest and Region, First of New Series

Cyberpunk 2077 keeps getting bigger and arguably better thanks to the modding community, and one mod in particular might be worth your attention.

Before it was released in 2020, there weren’t many games as hyped as CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077. Looking back, it’s very difficult to put into words how much buzz there was surrounding its highly anticipated release.

Some might say that the buzz was so loud that it was never going to live up to lofty expectations. Surely there’s no parallel with another game coming out in 2026 whatsoever.

That being said, even if Cyberpunk 2077 had a chance of living up to the hype, it never helped itself with the buggy state that it launched in, especially on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Thankfully, over the years, much like No Man’s Sky, the developers at CD Projekt RED have worked tirelessly to not only fix a broken game and deliver on promises to become what it was always meant to be – one of the best sci-fi RPGs of all time.

Mods Helped to Make Cyberpunk 2077 a Better Game

One of the other reasons why Cyberpunk 2077 is now such a fantastic game is largely thanks to its talented modding community. Whether it’s bug fixes, graphical and performance improvements or brand new content, the chances are, modders have you covered.

APEX – Sonora Canyon and Safehouse, CD Prokect RED (via Nexusmods)

A mod that might be worth your attention is called ‘APEX – Sonora Canyon and Safehouse’, created by Nox and MrBilL61, with TPMG, and it’s free to download now via Nexusmods.

What Does this Mod Do?

The mod intends to blend seamlessly with the native Cyberpunk 2077 experience, almost as if it were official DLC, of sorts. The safehouse, located in the southeast of the Badlands, has a spacious garage, a pool table and arcade cabinet, and a bar so that you can pretend to be social and more.

It should also be mentioned that the garage is unlocked by taking on the question associated with this mod. There are even additional small buildings in the new area that can be explored for added immersion. Oh, and it even includes a new sandstorm weather dynamic, which probably looks really cool. All in all, it sounds like a very meaty mod indeed. At least according to the mod page, details on the quest are practically nonexistent, which I assume is to keep it a surprise.

“A remnant of the Unification War, many a nomad has gazed upon its weather-beaten façade, but few dare venture to its gates. Nobody is really sure why Militech left the site, but many have tried claiming it for themselves,” reads the synopsis of the mod.

“Every time, though, the facility’s still-active and lethal defences have kept them at bay. That is, until an unorthodox crew of mercenaries, with business in Night City, successfully breached its security and repurposed it as their base of operations for a time. Now it stands to be claimed again, or rather, it beckons to be.”

The creators of this mod have also stated that this is the first of a series of mods coming to Cyberpunk 2077 from the team. Happy days! However, it should be stated that, as is the case with most mods, this is a PC exclusive.

Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion are out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
