Discord is getting some big changes starting next month. From March 2026 onwards, the instant messaging service will block access to several of its features for younger users.
These restrictions, which will be enabled by default on all accounts, can be lifted by providing a copy of an ID or by performing facial recognition. Otherwise, users will no longer be able to access adult community servers or participate in live streams via Discord. Filters for sensitive content will also be enabled.
In addition, a warning message will be displayed with each new friend request. Furthermore, private messages will be transferred directly to a separate inbox. Features not subject to age restrictions will keep working as usual.
