Sony has officially confirmed that the next State of Play will air on February 12th at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET following numerous rumors (and even an accidental retweet). The showcase promises over 60 minutes of ânews, gameplay updates, and announcementsâ from studios worldwide, including the âlatestâ from PlayStation Studios.
Of course, you can also expect âeye-catchingâ third-party and indie games to appear. Right off the bat, it seems a given that weâll see titles like Marvel TĹkon: Fighting Souls, potentially with a release date, and new gameplay for Saros, which launches in April. Marvelâs Wolverine may be more of an unknown, since Insomniacâs titles typically begin marketing closer to launch.
However, it also wouldnât be surprising if 4:Loop from Bad Robot Games and Left 4 Dead creator Mike Booth received a closer look. Fairgame$ hasnât received any updates since its May 2023 announcement (aside from Haven Studios founder Jade Raymond departing), so maybe it will appear. In terms of potential bombshells, Starfield for PS5 alongside the announcement of its second expansion, the rumored 2.5D God of War spin-off, and maybe even Silent Hill: Townfall could make an impact.
Then again, we may just see more from Horizon Hunters Gathering. Time will tell, so stay tuned for updates.
